My name is Tripat Singh Chawla and I practice a small variety of East Asian medicines.
I have actively maintained a clinical practice since January 2008. My approach to treatment is to work with you to not only cure you specific medical ailment, but also to assist you in maintaining your own health.
Medicine & healing can happen more effectively when there is clear communication between patient & practitioner. Often there is a process of discovery which goes both ways. I learn how your body ticks and how it changes with the bodywork I do. And you learn about my approach & see how these modalities can be helpful to your health goals. Because ‘health’ does not have a solid endpoint, a patient learns and becomes more aware of how their body reacts to their home, work, and stressors.
Disease can manifest differently in each individual so observing & reflecting on your health is just as important in guiding treatment as medical diagnostic tools. Creating this relationship around the process of healing can lead to understanding, and ultimately the strengthening of our Sangat (Family/Community/Support).
Feel free to contact me with any questions you might have. I am always open to an exchange of ideas and thoughts.
My formal training includes a Bachelors in Psychology (2003- Univ. of WA), Certification in Chandel Acupressure (2003), and a Masters in Acupuncture & Oriental Medicine from Seattle Institute of Oriental Medicine (2007). I am nationally certified by the NCCAOM with a Diplomate of Oriental Medicine, a licensed Acupuncturist in the state of WA, and certified by NADA as Acupuncture Detoxification Specialist.
