My name is Tripat Singh Chawla and I practice a small variety of East Asian medicines. To learn about the type of medicine I use please refer to the Library (coming soon!), and the different resources here around the site.
As for myself, I have actively maintained a clinical practice since January 2008. My formal training includes a Bachelors in Psychology (2003- Univ. of WA), Certification in Chandel Acupressure (2003), and a Masters in Acupuncture & Oriental Medicine from Seattle Institute of Oriental Medicine (2007). I am nationally certified by the NCCAOM with a Diplomate of Oriental Medicine, a licensed Acupuncturist in the state of WA, and certified by NADA as Acupuncture Detoxification Specialist.
My approach to treatment is to work with you to not only cure you specific medical ailment, but also to assist you in maintaining your own health. In addition it is important to find a therapy which is most effective for you. This is not to say healing should always be easy, but rather to know you should feel trust in the process. And realize it can come from anywhere and to discover what works best for you is part of my job.
Because ‘health’ does not have a solid endpoint, it is important for a patient to learn and become aware of how their body reacts to common situations. In approaching medicine it is important acknowledge that disease can manifest differently in each individual. Realizing this means then your observations of yourself are just as important in guiding treatment as medical diagnostic tools. This approach hopefully will encourage the process of healing to involve the patient, practitioner, and the patient’s Sangat (company, association).
That being said, I know that I’ve done my job well when you don’t need treatment. Feel free to contact me with any questions you might have. I am always open to an exchange of ideas and thoughts.
